VISION + VALUES

We believe that to become a church that exists for the glory of God and the good of our city and world, there are six initiatives we must pursue:

We will be a church that is committed to our town.

We live in the fastest growing part of one of the fastest growing cities in America. We believe we can influence the trajectory of our city by living with missional urgency.

We will be a church committed to the home.

It’s been said, “So goes the home, so goes the church.” We believe healthy families produce healthy churches. We will be proactive in our efforts to strengthen the home for the glory of God.

We will be a church that is committed to reaching the next generation for Christ.

We live in a city saturated with kids and teens. We believe we have a prime opportunity to impact the next generation through Restoration Church. We will do this by winning the schools and homes for God’s glory.

We will be a church committed to serving those suffering from brokenness.

We live in an area where many families are experiencing brokenness (divorce, issues related to foster care/adoption, addictions, pursuit of the material, etc.). We believe God has placed us here to point men, women, boys and girls to Jesus, where their deepest needs are met.

We will be a church that partners to multiply the gospel locally, domestically, and internationally.

We believe that God’s strategy for completing the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) is the planting of local churches in strategic cities around the world.

WHY WAKE FOREST?

NEED

Wake Forest is a suburb of Raleigh. Raleigh is the fastest growing metropolitan area in the nation. There are currently 1.6 million people that call the “Triangle” home. Wake Forest is the fastest growing part of the fastest growing city in the nation. As Wake Forest and Raleigh continue to multiply so will their need of gospel-centered churches. We believe that God will not only allow us to plant one church in the city, but multiple churches in the city and around the world.

INFLUENCE

Wake Forest represents a unique diversity of tradition and innovation. It is home to many of those who commute back and forth to North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park, one of the country’s largest and most successful research parks and a major center in the U.S. Many are continuing to move to Wake Forest because of the short commute to Raleigh, its safe and friendly neighborhoods, affordable housing, and its family oriented atmosphere. The culture of Wake Forest is changing daily. Therefore, we desire to plant a church that is centered on the unchanging gospel in the middle of this ever-changing context.

MORE ABOUT US

OUR VALUES

It’s all about Jesus.

With His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus modeled for us what it means to be a true servant who sacrificed for the good of others. At Restoration, we have decided to take the focus off ourselves by putting all the focus on Him.

Life happens best in relationships.

God exists in community: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Therefore, we should exist in community too. We are a church that values relationships and enjoys doing life together.

It’s not about us.

The Bible teaches us that “Jesus came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). We look most like Jesus when we live most like Jesus. Therefore, we are committed to sacrificially serving others like Jesus did.

People are the mission.

– The central mission of our church is to make disciples of all nations. Everything we do, from service projects to events, must serve that end. We are not a people of preference or opinion, we are a people committed to loving others and doing whatever it takes to make disciples of Jesus.

MORE ABOUT US

OUR BELIEFS

Our beliefs are summarized in our mission statement:

“LOVING GOD, LOVING PEOPLE, LOVING OUR CITY AND WORLD.”

Loving God

We believe that God is the Creator of all that exists, and that He Himself has existed eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Deut 6:4; Isaiah 64:8; Matt 3:16-17; 28:19; John 16:7-15; Heb 1:2-3)

We believe that God created us to worship Him and give Him glory.
(Isaiah 43:7, 21; Psalms 96:9; Matt 4:10)

We believe that sin has kept us from knowing God and worshipping Him, but that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin, was physically resurrected, and now offers a restored relationship with God to all who belive in Him.
(John 3:16; Acts 2:22-39; Rom 3:21-24)

We believe that salvation is a free gift given at God’s initiative, and must be received personally by faith.
(John 5:24; Rom 10:9-10; Eph 2:8-9)

We believe the Bible to be God’s Word, a true and fully accurate account of God’s love for us. Its purpose is to teach us how to have a relationship with Him, worship Him and bring Him glory.
(Psalms 19:7-10; 2 Tim 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

Loving People

We believe that Jesus established His Body on earth in the Church and that the church is a community that exists for the purpose of declaring the Gospel and glory of Jesus throughout the world.
(1 Cor 12:12-31; Col 1:18-20; 1 Peter 2:9)

We believe the church is a family and that every believer should be identified with a local body of believers for the purpose of mutual encouragement, spiritual growth and accountability.
(Eph 4:11-16; Col 3:12-27; Heb 10:24-25)

Loving Our City + World

We believe that God cares about every need of every person and that the Church, as Christ’s Body, is to show His love and care for every person. Every member of the church is called to be a minister of the gospel through both acts of loving service and through a willingness to share the truth of the gospel with everyone at every opportunity.
(John 13:34-35; 1 Peter 3:15; 1 Peter 4:8)

We believe that the scope of God’s love is worldwide and this Church is committed to taking the gospel to the farthest and most unreached places of the world.
(Isaiah 49:6; Matt 28:18-20; Rom 10:13-15; 1 Tim 2:3-4)
